Palworld Breeding Guide

Palworld breeding tree planner

Tell it which pals you have and which one you want. It works out the shortest breeding tree, the order to breed in, and how many eggs it takes to keep your passive skills.

Every breeding needs one male and one female, and eggs hatch either gender, so plan a few extra eggs. Passive odds assume regular Cake and that each bred pal you keep carries only the passives you want, or the one unwanted passive it can't avoid.

Planner questions

How does the breeding tree planner pick a route?

It treats your listed pals, plus any wild pals you allow up to a level, as starting pals. Then it finds the route with the fewest breedings to your target, preferring starting pals that spawn at lower levels when two routes are equally short.

How are the passive skill odds calculated?

Each egg rolls how many passives it takes from the parents' combined list and then may gain random ones. The planner uses the inheritance weights from the game data, as reverse-engineered by the community and implemented in PalCalc, assuming regular Cake.

Why does a route need more breedings than I expected?

In Palworld 1.0 most element variants and several rare pals can only hatch from one special pair, so reaching them from early pals can take a long chain. Allowing higher-level wild pals usually shortens the route a lot.

Is my pal list saved?

Yes, in this browser only. It is stored locally and never sent to our server, so it will not follow you to another device.
