How the game picks the child
Every breeding result comes from three rules, checked in this order.
- Same pal twice. Two parents of the same species always hatch that species.
- A unique pair. If the two parents are one of the combos above, the child is always the listed pal, whatever their breeding power.
- Everything else. Add both parents' breeding power, add 1, halve and round down. The child is the pal whose breeding power is closest to that number. Ties go to the higher breeding priority, then to the non-variant pal. The breeding chart lists every pal's breeding power.
To check one pair, use the breeding calculator. To find the shortest path to a pal from the ones you own, use the breeding tree planner.
Pals you can only get by breeding two of the same pal
No other parent pair hatches these 25 pals. Once you have a male and a female of one, breed them together for more copies.

Breeding combos FAQ
How many unique breeding combos are there in Palworld?
There are 136 unique combos in the current game data, and they hatch 90 different pals. Each one overrides the normal breeding power formula, so the listed parents always give the listed child.
Does gender matter for unique breeding combos?
Only for one pair. Katress must be female and Wixen male to get Katress Ignis. Katress must be male and Wixen female to get Wixen Noct. For every other combo, either parent can be the male or the female.
Can you breed legendary pals like Jetragon?
Yes, but only from two of the same pal. Bellanoir Libero, Frostallion, Jetragon, Necromus, Neptilius, Paladius and 19 other pals have no other parent pair, so you need a male and a female of that pal first.
What happens when two parents are not a unique combo?
The game adds the two parents' breeding power, adds 1, halves it and rounds down. The child is the pal whose breeding power is closest to that number. Ties go to the pal with the higher breeding priority, then to the non-variant pal.
How do I see which combos I can breed right now?
Add the pals you own under My pals, then turn on Can I make it now? above the table. It keeps only the combos where you own both parents. Your list stays in your browser.
